I use my onlyfire tumble basket mostly for wings. It produces absolutely fantastic results, but it definitely likes to collect food residue during cooks. After several losing battles trying to get it clean, I finally hit upon the answer. After a cook, I put a pound of 10 mm ceramic pie weights in the basket, turn up the heat, and let it spin for 15-20 minutes. The heat and tumbling action knock off almost all the large bits, leaving just a coating of carbon like you'd have on cast iron or carbon steel cookware. Use a brush to knock off any stray bits, give it a rinse and shake prior to the next cook, and you're good to go.
I was trying to buy the Napoleon basket which I know gets good reviews, but was out of stock so purchased this instead. It served its purpose well, fitting perfectly on the 18'' Kamado Joe Classic with Jotisserie. The only problem was that there were little barbs sticking out on the cage that I ended up cutting myself on several times when cleaning. After taking a file to the barbs, it's good now and I don't worry about it. Good value for the money. I'd purchase again considering the perfect fit for my grill.
Works as advertised for wings. I typically don't review products, but with this basket I got the exact results I was looking for. Crispy, flavorful, tender wings. Kind of annoying to clean though. But worth the hassle. Suggest letting the basket soak after using it to loosen any left over gunk and make cleaning easier. Looking forward to seeing what else I can cook in this thing.
This little rotisserie basket is perfect for me i like to roast peppers in it. Easy to use.
I used this to finish 16# par boiled chicken wings (3 batches) on my charcoal grill for a barbeque. They came out crispy and moist.
the rotisserie basket works great. I filled it with chicken wings and. they cooked evenly. everything turns out great. the only drawback is cleaning. There are a few places where steel wool will snag. I soaked the basket for a couple hours and a souring pad worked well without snagging.
Bought this to go with my new Weber Searwood and rotisserie so I could take a stab at making wings. I've put about 12 pounds of wings though this and they are always so freaking good. Word of warning, it's SHARP, like will cut you if you aren't careful sharp. Aside from that, cleans up nice in the dishwasher, may invest in a second for more wings!
Nice product except for the latch , it popped open on the first revolution ! Had to bend it abit !! To make it a little tighter !!
Would have given it 5 stars but the little shelves inside the basket I can do without. But that's the only knock on it. The universal fit is a great plus.
Just purchased and giving a 4 bc I had to file down the rough edges on the basket with a file..so if you are not willing to do that with this basket...dont buy it bc you will get stuck trying to handle it. Don't know why the manufacturer didn't quality control that problem. Make sure youvwash it good after filing down the rough edges to make sure you have removed all the filing debree...you dont want that in your food.
I like this rotisserie basket. Seems of good quality for the price. The latches seem very secure a have no extremely rough edges as described in other reviews. I recommend this product b
He's the cook. Perfect for grill size excellent he can put big chicken in it. He made a self propelling turning unit n is very satisfied.
The basket is easy to attach to a rotisserie spit, and the motor turns it at an appropriate speed. I have used it to roast chicken pieces and carrot and potato chunks. It's a bit tricky to open the basket when it is hot, but practice makes perfect.
Another win from OnlyFire. I haven't been disappointed with any product I've bought from them. So far, I've done onions, potatoes, and corn. Every time I use it, the food is great, and cleanup is quick and easy. I'm waiting to have time to do wings, but expectations are high.
I can finally make wings that taste better than the resturant. One hour slow cooked in the basket, makes perfect wings on my Weber gas grill.
It turned nicely so the vegetables could cook quite evenly
Love it
Bought this out of curiosity for roasting peppers at home. Thru some corn on the cobb in with the peppers, it all came out surprisingly good. I will be using this much more than expected.
Good rotisserie option to add to my Weber SearWood XL 600 Smoker, I worked perfectly
I like the basket but find it has a rough finish for cleaning I hand washed it and it shredded my dollar store scrubber leaving bits on the basket I had to pick off, then I used a metal mesh cloth rag and it took pieces off that as well, it is easy to clean though, sprayed with Dawn power spray, let it soak, then rubbed, then I put it into the dishwasher. The residue left on the basket I could brush off if I were to but again I would get the basket that has metal rods that creates squares rather than the mesh diamonds we made great chicken wings so i'm pleased just the same
Fit perfect, just what I ordered, will get another at some point. Didn't come unlatched while making fries, will have to try with wings soon.
I knew my buffalo wings would be great and they were but I was concerned about cleaning the basket.I sprayed a grill cleaner on the baskets and let them sit for a hour and placed them on the bottom rack in the dishwasher on the scrub cycle and they like brand new no food or soap residue.
I love this rotisserie basket. Ust it for wings, fries, veggies. It made a hard to clean mess with wings. So I simply placed the basket with the greasy seared on mess in a plastic 5 gallon bucket filled with hot water and dish soap. Soaked for a hour and everything easily came off with a scrub brush. Easy peasy.
It works great and the Latch system works well.Had a different Brand at twice the price. This is SO much better because no matter what you put in the basket, it stays closed.
Not sure what some of the reviews said it has sharp edges.. it didnt have any sharp adges that need to be cut or grind down. This thing was perfect.. easy to use and clean. So I have hot wings on this, i will try vegies and taters next time.. I did make a mess with the Franks Red Hot.. but that was the idea..What I did was let the wings cook and remove them from the basket..FYI - easier if you leave the basket on and use tongs to remove the wings or what ever you cook.Place the basket back together and let the heat burn off the bits and sauces that you use.. use a wife brush to gently remove the turn food and it easily comes off..
spray with a Pam like spray it will help in cleaning then soak in soapy water helps But this basket does 50 plus wings 25 drums 25 flats no problem and they turn out great crispy and flavorful.
Perfect
Love it especially for roasting green chilies and garlic
