The heat plates or diffusers just rest on top of the three burners.The control knobs have a rubber outer ring to them so they have a very nice feel and they rotate nicely. The lower legs fold out and have a pin connector to lock them into place which is nice.

Cooked up a couple of steaks the other night. The grill did a great job. It ran a little too hot for me but I think it's all in the learning prosses for the grill. The steaks came out very good. I am pleased.
