Loving this cast iron grate. Very sturdy fits the weber 22" perfectly. Center removes easily & alignment when replacing is perfect. Highly recommend!
It you use your grill often, I would recommend this grill replacement. The center piece removes for easy coal manipulation. It is heavy cast iron, easy to clean and it remains heat great.
So the price difference between the OEM grill replacement and this cast-iron one is about $25 more for the cast-iron. But if you own any cast iron cookware you know it will last a lifetime or longer. I love cooking on this cast iron grill. I have the Weber 22'' grill and it fits perfectly. Going to try making some pizza on it. I think it will work.
Possibly the best thing I have purchased for my Weber grill. I purchased a heavy grill for my Weber that had a center cutout that had square large holes in the inner circle. I wanted the diamond look on my grilled for. This piece fit perfect into my existing heavy grate. Cooks so much better than flimsy Webber grate that comes with the BBQ. Makes it very easy to achieve restaurant quality results and beautiful grill marks. Love this item.
Right out of the bat, it feels awesome, it's heavy, it's well made, no sharp or weird edges, well packed (zip ties holding the center piece) btw center piece is DIAMOND shaped I didn't use it already, bought a vortex with it, and put them both to play together in order to season the grates. Everything went smooth, got the vortex in the middle, a chimney load of red hot coal in, a nice and even coat of canola oil on the grates, kettle at 400° F, one our baking and then put the grates aside to cool down, I did it twice, now it has a really nice (non sticking) coat to it. I'm ready to cook. No cracks during the process. Will be back here if something goad wrong with higher temps or something ela se. So far I'm in love with it.
Great for cooking everything! Easy to clean and great upgrade from the original grill grate.
Great fit for my Weber 22" grill. I prefer cast iron grates to the stainless steel or enabled steel because I can get a good seer. The surface is fairly flat so small food doesn't roll around. The center grate is easy to remove or insert, but gotta be careful where you put it if it's hot. I haven't tried, yet, but was thinking of putting a wok on the grill with the center removed.
Excellence cast iron grill for the Webber 22'' kettle BBQ. Have used about 3 months, is now well seasoned and like a non-stick surface. Excellent grill marks. Would definitely buy again.
I did a batch of chicken wings on the kettle with this for my first round and they came out beautiful! Love the even heat of cast iron.
This cast grate is great! Huge improvement over the original wire grill.I wish I would have changed this years ago.
Yes, this is good.Thick, heavy, cast, exactly what you are looking for.Fits perfect on a 22" kettle. I was happy to 86 the old wire grill.Drops right in place, takes no effort.Seems durable, will only know until after months of use.Do one good charcoal "burn-off" before cooking food on it. Even if that means just starting it an hour before actually using it - you will want to get the protective/manufacturing oils off it.I "clean it" by burning off the cook by closing the lid and letting it burn down. Then a quick brush-off before my next cook. Seems to work fine.I'll probably do an intentional seasoning before winter (writing this in Sept).I use a chimney to prepare the coals/chunks, I dump in the removed middle section but the coals will spread out. I don't want to have to remove the whole grill when dumping in coals - so I just use extra coals. (you'll figure it out)Very glad I got it. Hoping it lasts and doesn't rust but happy so far.
Perfect for my Weber 22''
No better sear than from cast iron. Perfect fit. Center access is convenient. No regrets upgrading from the regular wire grill top.
I have had these grates for maybe about 6 months or more and they are doing great on my kettle. The clean easily with some foil and then I oil with avocado oil after cooking. Over all a great experience with no rusting. I suspect that if I keep them oiled they will last basically forever. I have no complaints.
Works great on the grill
This is a great addition to my grill. I have always hated those grill grates that come with a grill. This one is very heavy duty and works great. Such an upgrade to my grilling adventures.
This grill grate is amazing! It cooks everything perfectly to the taste to the texture. The weight is ideal and the functionality is perfect for a Weber grill.
Its amazing
I like the grill. It is cast iron, light weight but I think it should hold up to the heat
Husband loves it.
This is a good grill and retains heat well and gives nice grill marks. The only issue I have with it is the casting is upside down. Its triangular and the wide side is facing up and should be the other way around.
Bought as a gift for my son, who is a die hard Weber guy. He hadn't seen one and he loved it.
Quality grill. Very happy with the performance, look and fit.
Does not get scratched up or chipped. I have run it at very high heats and it's solid and stable. You do not have to baby it at all. Keep in mind, that when using the slow n sear attachment, it will be difficult to add fuel. Center grate executes sears very well
