Still sturdy after 4 years. I would not hesitate to buy again if I purchased a new porcelain grill/smoker. Allows for long cooks because the bottom does not get clogged with ash. Full ventilation around the entire basket allows for less management of airflow over the course of a day.

Ok, this basket is perfect in my egg! makes cleaning so much better, I removed the original iron base plate (which required cleaning out the holes all the time ) and dropped this in. Now I simply grab the side handles give it a shake and add more coal! Has made cleaning and prepping the BBQ faster and with less mess.Should have gotten this a long time ago, do yourself a favour and get one! you will not regret it!!

Much heavier than expected, which is great. It will make life a lot easier when barbecuing.

This has been a great addition to my Broil King keg. It’s a nice thick stainless steel that is less expensive than the original. The original cast iron ash grate burned through. This allows the charcoal to get up to temperature faster as well as hotter. Easy to shake and clean ashes. Would definitely recommend

This is seemingly high quality workmanship, and it makes clean up much much easier. It has the added bonus of improving the air flow around the charcoal, and keeping little bits of charcoal out of the side vent holes in the firebox. Some very small pieces of charcoal do fall through though. I have a Primo Round, fits perfectly.

We purchased a Kamado Joe "Classic Joe" last year and found that the included cast iron ash plate/basket included didn't allow for a lot of airflow. After installing this (which fits perfectly in the Classic Joe) I have more control over my heat and it makes cleaning the Kamado extremely easy.

Fits my Joe Classic 2 perfectly- I took out the KJ cast iron grate to ensure maximum airflow. Clean up is a breeze now and getting up to temperature quickly and consistently is simple. I can’t see why you would spend the extra money for the KJ branded product when this exists.

Using on a vision grill. So far the basket has been great, easier to clean the grill and allowing more air flow which helps bring the grill to a higher temp quickly. Nice for when wanting to sear. Stainless seems good quality too.

You will not regret this product.Ceramic eggs are notorious for having cracked inner fire boxes as the perforated cast iron fire/ash plate will eventually crack and as it expands it will in turn crack your fire box.Remove the cast iron plate and install this basket instead.Will actually improve burn efficiency as air circles all around the coal/ lump,in turn prolonging the coal and lump life.Every ceramic egg should have this.

I find sifting through the remains to salvage charcoal from my kamado style grill to be messy. This basket allows you to remove the charcoal, shake off the dust, and place back in the grill easily. In addition, I think it helps with airflow since I tend to overload my grill. You put in an adequate amount and you get airflow along the sides. Fool proof.

Big fan of this ash basket. I was originally concerned about how this would fit with my Eggspander flipped to cowboy style (grate sitting on the top of coals). This basket has plenty of clearance and very easy to clean. I do want to point out, this basket will allow the grill to get much hotter and quicker than standard BGE factory setup. After doing research, this product is better than the BGE branded fire bowl due to better airflow, easier to clean and it's cheaper. Highly recommend.

The basket was received timely and is as represented. It is sturdy and great quality. I highly recommend this basket as it made handling the charcoal pieces easy. Clean up was a breeze since all we did was lift and shake the basket and the ash falls through.

This makes a big difference in re-using bulk charcoal for BGE. Replaces the bottom grate and allows ashes to fall to bottom. If you cut-off the smoke you can come back and shake off the ash by grabbing the handles and relighting very easily. big enough to hold a long smoke amount of charcoal. Heavy duty gauge steel. If you cook much on Big Green Egg this is a big help.

I’m on a Big Green egg site and kept hearing how great these were. It holds up great to the heat, and makes cleaning a snap. And I don’t have any air flow issues now.

This is a great addition to your kit. It helps you keep the larger lump in the basket for more use, and just shake out the ash. It has much better airflow than the standard swiss cheese plate, so the ramp up is much more efficient. Ask around in the forums - the basket is a good idea. This basket is a cost-effective good idea.

There are several ash baskets on the market for a Large BGE. I spent a lot of time reading reviews of each and analyzing which one is what...very happy with this purchase. The welds are strong, the wire is thick, and the construction is solid. It's way more substantial than I thought when I looked at it online. I have a friend that has the kick ash basket which is about $90, I looked at his and I can't tell the difference between the 2 (and this one is half price of that). Stop looking and buy this one. You'll be glad you did.

This basket is just what I needed to keep my coals away from the air vent holes and to keep the coals in a tidy pile that burns longer.

I was recently gifted a used large Big Green Egg. It was in need of some TLC. The existing OEM fire grate was rusting and cracked. Before just buying a new one, I did some research and saw that lots of people recommended upgrading to an ash basket instead. That led me to considering the OnlyFire basket and the Kick Ash basket. The OnlyFire basket is considerably cheaper than the alternative, but I figured I'd give it a try anyway.I have zero regrets. It's a well made product, and it's really enhanced my grilling/smoking experience on the BGE. I find that it's way easier to maintain a constant cooking temperature now and clean up is very easy as compared to the BGE fire grill. You just lift up the basket and shake it, then put it back.I haven't tried the Kick Ash basket, but I've seen it in stores. I don't see any difference in quality that would justify the steeper price. So, if you're on the fence about which one to buy, go with the OnlyFire.
